For those PC users who don't like the idea of wasting time putting CDs and DVDs in and out of their disc drive the Daemon Tools Lite program could be a good solution.

What this software program does is emulate a CD / DVD / Blu-ray drive and put all of the disc's information onto a virtual drive, mounted as an image. This is a great solution if you switch between CDs a lot during the day or if you use discs which need to stay in the machine while you use them.

Once you install Daemon Tools Lite it sits in your system tray and can be used simply by clicking on it with your mouse - a left click to get access to something on your disc emulation drive and a right click to enter the setting options area or to add a new disc's information. Overall, the software is easy enough to use and shouldn't cause you any problems at all.

As well as being able to mount images of your discs very quickly it is simple to find your existing ones using Windows Explorer.

There is a free version you can download and use for personal use and also a paid option for commercial use and for additional features.

Daemon Tools Lite works with a wide variety of types of file (ISO, .cdi, .pdi, .mds etc). However, it isn't compatible with the likes of Ultra ISO and Power ISO files.

As well as the time saving factor mentioned, you can also use this free software to make backup copies of discs which you couldn't live without if something happened to them.
