The latest version of the Opera browser (Opera 11) is now available as a Beta version. Here are the main features:

1. Tab stacking. This is what the company is pushing as the big benefit on the new version. The idea is that you drag and drop tabs to create stacks for different tasks and to create more space on your taskbar. You can keep dozens of sites open this way, and hovering over a stack will tell you what is in it.

2. A better address field. There is a badge you can click on for information on the site you are visiting and you don't see the long winded addresses which sometimes clog up your address field.

3. Extensions support. There is a catalogue of extensions which let you customize your Opera how you want it.

4. Mouse gestures interface. This system acts as a guide for people who are new to Opera 11 and want to see what this time saving feature is all about.

5. Faster operation. Quicker loading times and faster running operations are a key benefit for any using the internet.

6. Better support for HTML5. This improvement lets you get a better result from dynamic applications and games.

7. Improved auto update. This feature keeps all your Opera programs current.

8. Google search predictions. A new built in feature; you simply type 'g' in the search field to get auto prediction on what you are typing.

9. On demand plug-ins. If you have an older or slower PC you can benefit from only loading the likes of Flash content when you choose to do so.

10. New mail panel. With this you have more control over your mail account.

11. Easy to download. The new Opera 11 is easy and quick to download, install and get started with.

That is a pretty long list of features, and obviously not all of them are appropriate or interesting for all of us. However, if you are unhappy with your current browser or would like to try out this one then it is quick, easy and free to do so.
